About
Every guest arrives with their own annotated working manuscript. We read the crossings-out on air. That single rule is the whole show.
The Margin Voice began in a spare room in 2020 with a borrowed ribbon microphone and one question nobody was asking on air: what did this book look like before it was good?
Five seasons later we still ask it. There is no news peg, no book-of-the-week obligation, no publicist approved script. Conversations run as long as they need to, usually somewhere between fifty and ninety minutes, and we publish the transcript in full so the sentences can be read as well as heard.
We do not take money to interview an author. Sponsorship exists, it is clearly marked, and it never touches the editorial calendar.

Senior Producer
Builds the question order and cuts nothing that hurts.

Records to tape first. Everything you hear is played, not licensed.
Research & Transcripts
Reads every book twice before we press record.
The Thursday letter
Each week we send the transcript excerpt that did not fit the episode, plus what our guest cut from their own book. 96,000 readers. No sponsors in the body.
